Tickets are now on sale for Christmas at Kew, the annual festive light trail that will run from 13 November 2026 through 3 January 2027 at the Royal Botanic Gardens in London.
New installations and adult‑only evenings
The 2026 program promises a “world premiere” of several installations created especially for the event. One feature is a floral‑meadow display whose blossoms are synchronized to music, while an animated willow tree draws on Kew’s collection of more than 11,000 trees. Visitors will also encounter a gateway of oversized gifts, illuminated arches, candy‑cane motifs, a gingerbread walk and life‑size Nutcracker figures.
Two evenings are set aside for adults only – Thursday 3 December and Wednesday 9 December – allowing over‑18s to explore the trail with friends or partners without younger children in the mix. The schedule also includes Quiet Access sessions on 21 November and on 1, 16 and 26 December, designed to provide a calmer environment for guests with hidden or visual disabilities.

What to expect on the trail
Beyond the new artworks, the path will feature an atmospheric Fire Garden where flames dance, a Pealight Tree adorned with thousands of tiny lights, and the signature Temperate House light show set against the world’s largest surviving Victorian glasshouse. Information about the ongoing Palm House renovation will be available along the route.
Food and drink stations will be spread throughout the trail, offering seasonal street fare and comforting staples such as toasted marshmallows, hot chocolate and mulled wine. For those who prefer a sit‑down experience, the Botanical Brasserie will serve a festive menu.

Every ticket purchased supports the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew’s charitable mission, which includes global plant and fungal research, education, conservation and horticulture.

From a practical standpoint, the new adult‑only slots could make the event more appealing to corporate groups looking for a low‑key night out. The timing – early evenings before the usual 10 p.m. closure – also means visitors can enjoy the installations without staying out too late, which may be a relief for families with young children.
Ticket prices start at £25.23 for adults and £20 for children, with free entry for under‑four‑year‑olds. The trail opens each evening at 4:20 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. Tickets can be booked through the official website.
