"It’s really about finding products that can make you feel the joy in everyday living," said Anna Granath, range identity manager at IKEA.

After nearly a decade, IKEA’s recurring PS collection has returned with a new line of quirky shapes and bold colors. The 44 new items will be sold exclusively in U.S. stores and online until May 28, 2026. A first-look event in New York City introduced the collection on May 14.

The collection aims to bring joy to everyday living. “It’s really about finding products that can make you feel the joy in everyday living,” said Anna Granath, range identity manager at IKEA. Some of the quieter pieces in the line offer a different kind of appeal.

PS focuses on breathing new life into ordinary items. Designers aimed to break the idea that unique furniture cannot be touched or used often. The new items create a sense of movement with practical features.

Playful and Functional Designs

The collection features foldable surfaces that can be tucked away and seating that can transform into bedding. There are also decorative storage items designed to blend into a space. IKEA describes the collection as the peak of “playful functionality,” with an emphasis on the playful aspect.

The collection includes primary colors like kelly green, cobalt blue, and bright red. The green PS 2026 chair is a standout piece. It is an inflatable chair with a chrome frame, offering a modern touch. Its cover is machine washable and the air chamber allows for customization of the seat’s firmness.

Another chair in the collection has a ’70s-inspired style with a circular seat and cylindrical back. It is available in cobalt or green and features cushioned padding for comfort.

Subtle Tones and Storage Solutions

The collection also offers softer tones for those who prefer less bright colors. Granath noted that the subtler shades add balance to the mix. The IKEA PS 2026 pine dresser features woven wooden doors reminiscent of Longaberger baskets, a style popular in country and farmhouse decor.

A glass-door cabinet in light pink provides versatile storage. It can be used for glassware and spirits in the kitchen or for blankets and knickknacks in the living room. This piece offers an accessible take on a popular locker-room look found in other designer collections. The mix of bold and quiet elements gives customers options to suit their personal style.
